Sceptre Power Announces Efficiency Level V & ErP2 Compliant External Power Supplies
Placentia, California. February 21, 2012 – Sceptre Power announced that all AC to DC product families (PS, PXT, PXX, PSD and PS2D) meet the Level V energy efficiency requirement of Energy Star and ErP2 for both domestic and international applications.
Efficiency improvements for power supplies are of significant importance in reducing unnecessary electricity expenses. According to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), by increasing power supplies' efficiency, it can save 32 billion kilowatts of electricity, which is about $2.5 billion annually for USA. Additionally, it can also reduce over 24 million tons of carbon dioxide emission annually. Meanwhile Level V compliance is a requirement for products to be sold in the European Union markets.
Sceptre Power's PS, PXT, PXX, PSD and PS2D series are all based on 100 to 240V AC universal inputs to accommodate global markets. The supplies have output power from 25 to 200 Watts, with output voltage range from 3.3VDC to 48VDC. The PS, PSD and PS2D series offer both the wall mount and desktop models, and the PXT & PXX series offer interchangeable AC plugs with choice of US/Canada, European, UK, Australian, Korean, and China (CCC) AC prongs.
All supplies operate full-load between 0°C to 40°C, and de-rate to 50% power at 70°C. Protection features include Input Voltage Protection, Short Circuit Protection, Over-Power Protection, Over Voltage Protection and Over-Temperature Protection. All models are approved to UL60950-1, CSA C22.2 No. 60950-1-03, TUV EN60950-1, CE Mark (LVD) EN61000-3-2, 3 and IEC61000-4 Series Regulations and Certified Bodies.
As Wilson Chiu, Vice President at Sceptre Power indicated, "Even through currently Level IV energy efficiency is adequate for US market, but since energy-saving is a global concern, we expect Level V compliance will be adopted in USA in the future."

Cooltron Introduce New DC Fans for Power Supplies
Many industrial manufacturers around the world have been using Cooltron fans in their power supply applications for many years. The Cooltron standard DC fan series being specified for power supplies include: FD4010, FD5010, FD6025, FD7015, FD8025, FD9025, FD1238, FD1738 and FD1755. The broad DC fan series offer a variety of CFM options, rated from 5VDC to 48VDC, and measure from 40x40x10 mm to 172x151x55mm with airflow from 4.5 to 321.7CFM.
Minneapolis, Minnesota - CIT Relay & Switch offers the AH Series 19mm Pushbutton Switch. This panel mount switch is momentary with SPST NO plus SPST NC. The AH Series is both splash and vandal proof, with flush actuator styles offering non-illuminated, bi-color ring illumination or dot illumination. Bi-colored illumination choices are Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, White and Orange.
Technical Data: Electrical ratings are 1A@24VDC, 1A@125VAC and 0.5A@250VAC. Sealing to IP65. Electrical Life is 50,000 cycles. Contact Resistance is less than 50m .
